Joy

That is my word that describes my photography. My passion is to photograph joy. Joy in family, joy in events and the joy of people.

My name is Jenny Khumalo, I have been visiting greyton for the past few years and we finally made the move in July 2023 from Somerset West. Originally from the Uk I came to South Africa in 2010 for a holiday and never went home. 13 years later I am married to my soul mate Moses and have two adorable children Elouise and Noah.

Back to Greyton Photography!

Photography is one of my first loves when I first picked up a film camera at the tender age of 16 and I haven’t looked back. I hold a BA(Hons) degree in Photography from the Arts University in Bournemouth, UK. I have been fortunate to use my skill and passion throughout my career as a communications specialist to NGOs in South Africa. As part my work I get to witness the wonderful work they do, and the joy it creates and photograph all of it!

In moving to Greyton, I wanted to offer my services as a joy and people photographer to capture all the beautiful old and new families that live here as well as the array of events all of which make up this wonderful community.

Also to our visitors who are such a big part of Greyton, to capture their special time away in this beautiful place.

And so Greyton Photography was born.

My style of photography

My photography is about showing a joyful moment in time. Capturing connection, love, laughter and fun.

I am not a photographer who sets up elaborate shoots, poses, or pictures but rather more a fly on the wall that observes and looks for those special moments.

You will get my best self if you have a party or, as a family conjoins in doing something together like braaing, crafts, baking, reading and playing with your children. These are the moments we don’t get to see ourselves in and these are the moments that we treasure for a lifetime.

I’m also not a photographer that likes to alter or edit photos much. I want to keep the full colour that was present that day as for me it shows the reality of what was in front of the camera. So you can expect:
